Matru Sewa Sangh Sutika Gruha - Bramhapuri

The establishment of the Brahmapuri branch is attributed to the inspiration and help received from Deputy Commissioner Shri. J.K. Atal. The branch also received help from Shri. Nagdavane, the Tehsildar of Brahmapuri, who collected Rs.1000 from nearby villages and obtained donations from several donors for the branch. The branch performed 32 and 35 deliveries of babies in the year 1945-46 and 1946-47 respectively. The branch was inaugurated under the presidency of Shri. J. K. Atal on 25/3/1945. Gangubai Bhoskar was appointed as the manager of the branch. Initially the maternity home had a provision of 5 beds. The branch had stopped receiving grants from the government, so it was difficult to manage it financially. Nevertheless, the executive committee remained undeterred and strengthened the financial aspect and kept the branch alive. The branch received support from the residents of the village, Shri. Nanasaheb Joshi and Dr. A Savakar.  A meeting was held to discuss ways and means to keep the branch active. Kamlatai Hospet and Mrs. Kamlabai Ranade were prominently present for the meeting. The branch received a sum of Rs. 10,000 as a loan from the main branch for the building. In addition, S.D.O. of Brahmapuri Shri V.L. Badkas arranged for a grant of Rs. 20,000 from Zila Parishad, Chandrapur and Panchayat Samiti, Brahmapuri. Mr. Badkas contributed immensely in the construction of the building. Some more donations were collected from the local residents.  Finally, the branch was revived. The new building was inaugurated on 28 July 1963 at the hands of Mr. Hazarnavis, the Union Deputy Minister.
