Bharuka Matrumandir - Chandur Railway

Bharuka Matrumandir Branch was established on 15 August 1951 near Chandur railway in an old house of a generous person named bharuka. The women in this area faced several problems during their pregnancy. In order to provide them all the facilities required during child birth, this branch was established. It was inaugurated at the hands of Mrs. Poornimatai, the daughter-in-law of the Health Minister, Mr. Barlinge. Dr. Shri Narkhedkar took the responsibility of providing medical facilities. Initially, it had a provision of 5 beds, but it was inadequate to cater to the needs of the growing number of pregnant women. Later, a new building was constructed and the maternity home was shifted there in the year 1956. In 1960 the villagers constructed 3 rooms for providing accommodation to the staff of the branch. The branch was self-sufficient to fulfil their day-to-day needs. The maternity home had all the facilities and provisions.
