The Matru Sewa Sangh (MSS) is one of the oldest Charitable Trusts in Central India founded in 1921, by Late Padmashree Kamalatai Hospet (Founder) alongwith Smt.VenuTai Nene (Co-Founder) in the city of Nagpur.
Having witnessed the abysmal facilities for pregnant Indian women, Kamalatai, widowed at the age of 15, set up maternity homes in Central Provinces and Berar to provide women good medical care. Her work, and more so her, attracted some remarkable individuals who engaged their life, by expanding the domain of the Matru Sewa Sangh for a worthy social cause. Over the years, MSS has added a wide nature variety of other services to its ambit of work including Maternity Homes, Institute of Social Work, School for Mentally Challenged, Home for the Aged, Child Adoption Services, Working Women’s Hostels and Family Counseling Center. Its history is a saga of confronting adversity with courage, converting challenges into opportunities and serving people with love, dedication and discipline. The Matru Sewa Sangh stands tall on the Charitable Trust’s skyline of Central India. It has acquired its stature through its outstanding record of devoted and distinguished service to society.
